On Monday, January 22, 2025, Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, chaired a strategic meeting aimed at overseeing and evaluating the administrative performance of postgraduate units across all university colleges.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Postgraduate Studies at the University Presidency, along with all postgraduate coordinators representing the various colleges.
Meeting Agenda
Discussions focused on two key pillars essential to advancing academic excellence:
Review of Study Leave Plans: Assessing current and future requests for academic leave submitted by faculty members and postgraduate students, to ensure alignment with university regulations and academic requirements.
Completion of Student Files: Conducting a comprehensive audit of postgraduate student records to confirm that all required documentation has been completed and properly archived in an organized and systematic manner.
Key Objectives and Outcomes
The meeting served as a collaborative platform to enhance the postgraduate research environment at the university, with emphasis on:
Monitoring Administrative Performance: Closely following up on the daily operations of postgraduate units to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality.
Improving Services: Focusing on mechanisms to deliver optimal administrative and academic support for postgraduate researchers.
Strengthening Institutional Governance: Ensuring that all units operate within a unified, organized, and transparent framework.
Open Dialogue: Concluding with an interactive discussion and Q&A session, allowing unit representatives to present proposals and address challenges encountered within their respective colleges.
